It Takes all Kinds...
It's Geek Pride Day!

iReport —
May 25th was International Geek Pride Day. It's the high holiday for the geeks and nerds to celebrate all that we are ...and are not. It falls on the sacred anniversary of the original release of Star Wars. Naturally.
The Geek Pride Manifesto states:
It is our right to
~ not leave the house
~ to be out of style, overweight or have poor eyesight
~ to dislike sports
It is a our responsibility to
~ seek world domination
~ befriend anyone who looks like a sci-fi character
~ to attend opening nights of geeky movies in costume

Psalm 139:13-14 (New International Version)
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
What does God's Story scripture teach us about how much He loves us?13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Psalm 139 is a song David wrote reflecting on his relationship with God. He goes back to the very beginning of his life. He goes back to the point when his very body starts to form. In the two verse we read today. David celebrates God's love for him. A love so big that it was involved in piecing together David.
How can we connect today's God's Story scripture to our lives?
Just like Davis we get to rejoice in how intimately God knows us. He loves us so deeply that it wasn't enough just to let us form at random. He was involved from the beginning. He took time to craft us in a special way.

- Memorize this scripture to pull out on days you don't feel very special.
- Trying writing God a thank you note for taking the time to form you.
How can we connect today's story, God's Story scripture, and our story to others?
Yesterday was "Geek Pride Day," a day to celebrate the folks comedians make a living off of. It is also a day to acknowledge yet again the uniqueness we are all created with. If you have been listening to your friends stories, you probably have at least one that doesn't like something about themselves. Here is your chance to remind them that there is a God that loves them so much He made them different. He played a personal role in creating them as they are. Remind them that God loves them that much.
